After leaving the national touring band Nucleus in the fall of 2003, sax-man Matt Dickson began looking for like-minded area musicians to jam with and hopefully start something new. Through a mutual friend (bass player for then Stop the Mad Hypnotist, now The AfroMotive — Ryan Reardon), he linked up with guitar/bass player extraordinaire Frank Lisco, and started playing music with Frank's then band Stop the Mad Hypnotist (in which Frank played guitar). After that band became defunct due to half of the band leaving, Matt and Frank were left to look for a new rhythm section. Enthusiastically responding to a flyer was Fernando "Pup" Martinez who had been a musical staple on the Ithaca music scene for some time having played with, most significantly, the Bernie Milton Band. After trying out other musicians and nothing really working out (there is actually a demo out there of the short-lived band Dose), Frank had the epiphany that he must play bass (and might I say it just couldn't be any other way!), thusly forming Triose.

Consisting of Matt Dickson on Saxophones, percussion, and Micro-Korg, Frank Lisco on Bass, and Fernando "Pup" Martinez on Drums, Triose is a musical experience not to be missed! Based in Ithaca, NY, Triose is exploding onto the upstate New York music scene and around the region, so keep an eye and an ear out for one of the hottest new trios to hit the Northeast!
